Istanbul, the most highly populated city in Turkey and a centre for culture and trade, has a rich history. From Greek-Roman antiquity, to medieval Byzantine architecture and then contemporary, modern Turkey, the heart of this city is characterised by a wealth of different traditions. It is here where the modern and futuristic Medicana Ataşehir Hospital was established.

From the lobby to the rooms for patients and doctors, the premises are designed to promote the healing process and make a pleasant stay in hospital possible. Fitting perfectly into the overall concept are the stunning LIVA and LOOP metal ceilings by durlum. A sight to behold, the bronze coloured LIVA ceiling adorns the entrance and waiting area. With its baffles arranged multi-directionally, and with a free cross-section of more than 95%, it creates an open and homogeneous ceiling look. To completely conceal the ceiling void from onlookers, the LIVA ceiling was custom designed to be installed below the plasterboard ceiling. In other areas, the acoustically optimised LOOP metal ceiling with PUNTEO-J60 LED spots provides an elegant, seamless look and an atmosphere that promotes a sense of wellbeing. The vision, design and function have been adapted perfectly to suit the needs of patients and has helped to create a trailblazing hospital that will play an important role in Turkey.
