Portico Apartments, 2–4 York Street, Sydney
Located within one of Sydney’s prominent inner-city residential precincts, Portico Apartments at 2-4 York Street, underwent a comprehensive façade upgrade as part of the NSW Government’s Project Remediate program. The project involved the removal and replacement of existing combustible cladding, with a focus on improving building safety while enhancing long-term performance and asset value.
Spanning approximately 9,180m², the façade upgrade utilises ALPOLIC™ NC/A1, a non-combustible mineral core aluminium cladding solution manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi Chemical Infratec Co., Ltd., and suitable for high-rise residential buildings. The specification delivers a refined and consistent façade finish, supported by a 20-year full-cover manufacturer’s warranty, providing long-term confidence for strata, residents and building managers.
The completed works deliver a contemporary façade outcome aligned with current compliance requirements, contributing to safer and more resilient residential buildings.
